The Royal Parks charity is reminding people that ‘dogs on leads’ will be mandatory from 1 May until the 31 July in Richmond and Bushy Parks, to protect both dogs and deer during the deer birthing season.
Due to pressure from increasing visitor numbers and notably from dogs not being kept under control, the skylark population within Richmond Park and Bushy Park has declined rapidly.
Sir David Attenborough has planted an English oak tree to officially open the Platinum Jubilee Woodland, a new woodland in Richmond Park planted as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy initiative.
The Royal Parks charity is providing free and discounted school learning sessions to be held across the Royal Parks, thanks to a generous £50,000 donation from the Royal Parks Foundation USA.
